"Should my shadow cross thy thoughts."

In memory's darkest hold."

Not directed at anyone, however applicable it could be seen in current circumstances.
There are certain songs that I can just wrap around me like a security blanket. They serve as an affirmation that things are, indeed, all right and that everything is the way it was once before, save for the twinge of disappointment in my tummy. "Starman" by David Bowie is definitely one of them.

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds.

It's the song that you sing at the top of your lungs, face to the sky, as you're careening down the highway at an inadvisable speed. The song that you sing while grabbing your best friends hand and laughing. Everyone has that song. It is rarely the same song, but always the same feeling. The feeling that everything is going to be okay and everything is in its right place, or it will be soon enough.

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile.

That song is the feeling of optimism.

... let the children lose it.
... let the children use it.
... let all the children boogie.

I want to live in this moment. Gleaned from "...etc. "
